Il-Pjazza - or the Maltese way of living

On Friday 10th of June, il-Pjazza – Le Méridien’s new outdoor restaurant will officially open and unlock the colourful ways of wining and dining in Malta with its very first "FESTA FRIDAY". With this new venue, Le Méridien St Julians invites his summer clientele to lay back in a pleasant set-up inspired by the Festa atmosphere that sprinkles the island throughout summer.

"We wanted to widen our dining options", explains Andre Scerri, F&B Director at Le Méridien St Julians. "It had become obvious that we needed to present an original summer venue and the idea of re-creating the concept of our island’s popular Festa in a 5 star environment imposed itself to us".

The name "il-Pjazza" was also born quite naturally when the hotel’s team brainstormed about the Maltese way of living. What better term could describe a typical meeting point, at the heart of the village feasts in Malta?
Il-Pjazza, located on a wide terrace of the hotel’s premises (level 1), opens Fridays and Saturdays throughout summer with two different seasonal themes: Festa Fridays and BBQ Saturdays.

Fridays at il-Pjazza proudly will wear the local colours. Customers will be presented with never-ending homemade dips and appetizers. As main courses, an array of typical Maltese recipes will be prepared before the guests’ eyes, with live cooking stations exuding mouth-watering scents all around the place. Folkloric entertainment with dancers and musicians complete the amazing summer vibe of this "FESTA FRIDAY". For the quality and the quantity of the items on offer, prices are reasonable: €25 per person (food only) or €33 including free flowing wine, beer, soft drinks and water.

For a more classic summer night, you may want to try out Le Méridien BBQ on Saturday (starting on the 11th of June). The evening is also spiced up with musical entertainment. The BBQ night at il-Pjazza costs €28.95 per person, including half a bottle of local wine.

The good news is that for both events, children aged between 0 and 12 years eat free whilst teenagers up to 16 years pay half the advertised price.

Il-Pjazza is definitely a great place to try out with friends and family this summer.
