World Travel Award winners triumph in Europe

Le Méridien St Julians Hotel & Spa was part of the top brand names to emerge victorious at World Travel Awards 2013 Europe ceremony, held in Antalya, Turkey on 31st August 2013. The 5 star hotel, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, was awarded Malta’s leading Spa resort.

The industry’s elite, including senior executives of leading travel companies, government ministers and top tourism decision-makers, attended the gala event hailed as “The Oscars of the Travel Industry”. World Travel Awards celebrates its 20th Anniversary this year and is acknowledged across the globe as the ultimate travel accolade, celebrating those companies and organisations that are pushing the boundaries of industry excellence in product and service. The Gala Ceremony had an entertainment line up of top stars with Turkish TV host Ece Vahapoglu, world renowned classical trio Sterling EQ, opera maestro Andrew Amdur and the sensational Fire of Anatolia Fire entertaining the guests.

World Travel Award was launched in 1993 to acknowledge and recognise excellence in the global travel and tourism industry. Now celebrating its 20th anniversary, it is regarded as the highest achievement that a travel product could hope to receive. WTA’s global media partner network includes TV5Monde, CNBC Arabiya, Khaleej Times, Trade Arabia, TTN ABTA Magazine, ASTA Network, Breaking Travel News, eTurboNews, Trav Talk, Travel Daily News International, Focus on Travel News, Vox Africa, New Focus Travel Magazine, Tourism Review, JAX FAX, Passport Magazine, Travel & Leisure China and National Geographic Traveller. This global media partner network has a monthly readership of 1.2 million and a TV audience reach of 90 million.

Not only was Le Méridien St Julians Hotel & Spa voted Malta’s leading Spa Resort, but it was also nominated in other prestigious areas such as Malta’s leading boutique hotel and Malta’s leading hotel. “It is an immense honour for us to receive such a great award from this internationally renowned organization”, states Franco Vella, General Manager at Le Méridien St Julians Hotel & Spa. “On the global scene, the consumer’s voice is being heard more than ever – and rightly so. It is very rewarding for our team to see our permanent efforts being translated into a very positive international reputation.”

Le Méridien St Julians Hotel & Spa was awarded for his unique Spa facilities which provide hotel guests with a stunning – and relaxing – environment. A tropical heated indoor pool, guarded by four carved columns imported directly from Bali certainly sets the ground for a fantastic experience. The hotel partners up with professional Spa therapists and the Spa area also presents several treatment rooms, hydro-therapy baths, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, relaxation areas and a large outdoor terrace with comfortable sun beds. A great find for the Spa traveler in Malta, without a doubt.
