Candle light hour at Le Meridien Malta

ST JULIANS, MALTA – March 27, 2010 – For the second year in a row, Le Méridien St Julians Hotel and Spa, Malta, took part in Earth Hour today by switching the hotel’s lights off and taking several energy-saving measures for one full hour.

“Between 8.30 and 9.30 p.m. on Saturday we hosted an evening ritual with live music and celebration drinks in the KuDéTa – all by candle light,” said Angela Saliba, general manager of Le Méridien St Julians. “From 9 p.m. there was also a Happy Hour during which patrons benefited from 50 per cent off all consumption at the bar.”

Guests staying at the hotel were encouraged to turn off the lights. The atmosphere in the KuDéTa and the main Reception area was romantic as the lights dimmed and a host of candles were spread about these two areas.

Sparkling wine was served to patrons along with canapés as many hotel guests congregated and also watched the Earth Hour video, that was being shown in the Lounge.

Senior hotel management were present to hand out the drinks and mingle with the guests.
